How to Enter

There are only 250 entries for the Hout Bay Trail Challenge and participants will need to register online when entries open. You will be able to pay with a credit card, debit card or make an EFT payment. Entries will close on Wednesday 15th July 2020 or once we have reached our limit.


COVID-19 UPDATE

Unfortunately we have to postpone the Hout Bay Trail Challenge until we can secure a new date later in the year. Under the current Lockdown Level, we have not been able to get permission to organise the event. All those who have registered will be carried over to the new date or you will be able to defer your entry to 2021.

Entry Fees

  • Individual (40km): R1130.00 - TBC
  • Team Entry (40km): R1800.00 - TBC ( R600.00 - 3 runners per team - each will run 1 of the 3 legs in a relay format)

Should the event been cancelled for inclement weather, economic or any other external forces that are out of the Event Managements control, the organiser may decide to:

  • Change the course to a safer alternative course
  • Postpone the event if possible
  • Cancel the event completely.
  • This decision will only be made in the interest of participants safety.

    In the event been completely cancelled, no refunds will be possible. Please see withdrawal and cancellation policy below for more detail.

    Substitutions

    Withdrawals

    • If you are unable to race this year after you have received your race confirmation email for 2020, you may withdraw by sending an email to hello@houtbaychallenge.co.za.
    • If you chose to withdraw, please complete the Withdrawal form and notify the organiser by email - hello@houtbaychallenge.co.za.
    • 75% of your Entry and Merchandise ordered will be refunded, when your entry is cancelled on or before 15th May 2020 in writing
    • 50% of your Entry and Merchandise ordered will be refunded, when your entry is cancelled on or before the 12th June 2020 in writing
    • 25% of your Entry and Merchandise ordered will be refunded, when your entry is cancelled on or before the 10th July 2020 in writing
    • No Refunds will be made after the 11th July 2020
    • Any donations made, will be donated to the event charity and not refunded.
    • The refund payment will be done within the calendar month after the event. For clarification if the event takes place on 1 August 2020, refunds will be paid by 1st September 2020.
